Administrative Assistant
We are seeking a part time Administrative Assistant to the Vicar and parish of Cockington
​
We are looking for someone who will bring innovation and enthusiasm, working from home, to support the Vicar and the PCC in developing and implementing new, simplified systems for the administration necessary for the smooth running of church life and working with our Communication Officer to develop our on line presence as a parish. The role includes:

Updating and maintaining the Safeguarding Dashboard for the parish and administrative support for implementation of all Safeguarding policies.

Managing the administration of life events: baptisms, wedding, funerals and Garden of Remembrance requests

Communicating effectively with church officers, especially the Church Warden, Treasurer and Organist

Supporting church officers in the preparation of official documentation
-
Preparation for key celebrations across the church year
-
Supporting church officers in the preparation of official documentation
-
Working alongside our Marketing and Communication Officer and others to manage social media content
-
Production (in collaboration with others) of a weekly pew sheet (online and in hard copy)
-
Maintaining compliance with Safeguarding and GDPR regulations and requirements
-
By agreement, attending relevant planning meetings
Essential skills and qualities for this role are:
Proficiency in Office Software such as Word, Excel and Outlook; and Zoom style virtual meeting platforms
Good planning skills, the ability to prioritise, and respond to change
A commitment to and sympathy with the promotion of the Christian vision of the Parish
Ability to work collaboratively with the Vicar
Willingness to take up Diocesan training where it is necessary for understanding particular tasks.
Working knowledge of Social channels such as Facebook and Instagram
Desirable:
Transferrable experience in a similar role

Hours: Up to 10 hours a week Hourly rate: £11.50 per hour
​
